STEM Wizard Student Registration Guide

Steps to Create a STEM Wizard Student Account

  1. Go to http://mcsf.stemwizard.com and click on the Registration link at the top right of the screen.
  2. Enter your name, address, grade, and email address in the form.  IMPORTANT: Enter an email address that you check regularly!
    1. IMPORTANT: If you are using a school email address, be sure that it can receive emails from stemwizard.com. Some local schools use email filters that block messages from outside the school district. If your school email cannot receive messages stemwizard.com, register using a personal email address.
    2. We strongly recommend that students enter a parent’s email in the “Secondary Email” box so parents will be copied on messages and system emails sent through from STEM Wizard.
  3. Create a Username and Password for STEM Wizard.  Chose something that is easy for you to remember!  We suggest using your FirstnameLastname as your username.  For example, Albert Einstein would have a username of AlbertEinstein
  4. Choose your school from the dropdown list.  If you don’t see your school listed, select the “1 – temporary school selection” at the top of the list and send an email to registration@midcolumbiasciencefair.org with your school information.
  5. If you want to allow STEM wizard to send SMS/text messages, check the box to allow SMS/text messages and enter a cell phone number.
  6. Your Division is based on your grade: 6, 7, 8, 9 or Senior (which is grades 10-12 grouped together).
  7. Choose the category that best fits the topic of your project.  Descriptions of the different categories are at https://www.societyforscience.org/isef/categories-and-subcategories/.  Many projects could fit into several categories – chose the one that you think is the largest part of your project.
  8. IMPORTANT: After registering online, you will receive an email confirming your registration and giving you a login link.  This email contains your login information for your STEM Wizard account. This is sent right after you register, so check your email for this message.  If you do not receive this message within an hour of registering, send an email to registration@midcolumbiasciencefair.org so we can confirm your email address.  We communicate mainly through email for fair registration and project review, so it’s really important we have your correct email address!

Your project registration is now managed through a series of milestones that you will complete when you’re logged in to your student account at http://mcsf.stemwizard.com.  Each milestone needs to be completed by its due date for your project to be registered for the fair.

Go to the STEM Wizard Milestones page to see more details about each milestone.
